Voluntary Donation
We will be asking for a totally voluntary donation of R300 to any U3A branch. We suggest that you only make the donation when you are satisfied that this course will be of benefit to you. We will send out details of this donation after the first three or so sessions. No one will be excluded from the course in any way if they elect not to make the donation.
Format of the Course
The course consists of about 41 sessions on Zoom which will last about an hour each. To a large extent, the course will be a replication of the course given in 2025 with some enhancements and updating. Most sessions will consist of a video, followed by a PowerPoint presentation and, perhaps, some live screen sharing. The atmosphere is relaxed and sociable rather than strictly academic. The sessions will be held at 10:00 each Tuesday or Wednesday but on the third Tuesday of each month, there will be a U3A Johannesburg meeting in place of the course.
In 2025, we plan to introduce a second session on AI (Artificial Intelligence), have a session on “The Digital Life” (interconnection of computers in various devices) and also a session on Google Workspace.
The sessions will be recorded and a link to the recording and presentation material will be available on this website.
